VHI have released One Plan 150 (€865 per adult, €230 for child 1-3 and €320 for students) on 22 August 2013.
This product provides cover for a semi-private room in public hospitals and a semi-private room in private hospitals with a €150 excess for the first two private hospital claims per year. Specified hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery and cataract surgery is covered 60% in private hospitals. There is no cover for the Blackrock Clinic, the Mater Private, the Hermitage Clinic or the Galway Clinic.

The plan has limited outpatient benefits with a €250 outpatient excess per year. There is a maternity accommodation grant of €400 for public hospitals only.

VHI will release One Plan Family (€965 per adult, €131 for child 1-3 and €362 for students) on 22 August 2013.

This appears to be a bid to compete with Aviva’s child price on Family Value of €150.

This product provides cover for a private room in public hospitals and a semi-private room in private hospitals with a €125 excess per claim. There is 90% cover for cardiac and special procedures and full day case cover in the Mater Private, Blackrock Clinic and Beacon private hospitals with a €125 excess per private hospital claim.

Specified hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery and cataract surgery is covered 80% in private hospitals with a €125 excess per claim.

There is a maternity accommodation grant of €4,200. The plan has limited outpatient benefits with a €250 outpatient excess per year.

These plans are available to all new and renewing customers from 22 August 2013.
