Today Aviva Health announced and demonstrated their latest offering.  A complimentary G.P access benefit integrated into their suite of Aviva Select plans.

Babylon which is currently being used in Aviva UK is a smart phone app which offers customers exclusive access to 3 face to face video consultations with a G.P where a diagnosis can be made and prescriptions issued directly to the pharmacy for collection.

The new service will be available from March 2^nd and is designed to offer customers ease of access to medical expertise from your very own home.

This initiative is bound to go down a treat with parents with young children allowing mums to avoid packing the car with all the children, just to take one to the G.P.

TIME

This could potentially cut hours from someone’s day and help avoid having to get out and about when one doesn’t feel quite up to it.

SAVINGS

Apart from the time saved there is also the expense of the usually G.P visit which could cost you anything from €45 to €70 depending on where you live. This benefit is FREE OF CHARGE to the customer.

EARLY DIAGNOSIS

Not having to worry about the cost or find the time, this initiative will no doubt see people benefit from getting health issues dealt with before they deteriorate and worsen to the point of hospitalisation and may even help in the early diagnosis of greater underlying medical issues.

As an advisor (and a parent) I find this development quite exciting and strong proposal.
