Aviva Health release 8 new plans on the 28th of June 2013

Aviva release 8 new plans in a bid to address the increasing strain on affordability. The plans could also be seen as an innovative move by Aviva Health to circumvent the government’s proposed plans to charge insurers and patients inflated rates in Public Hospitals.
Aviva Health’s 8 new plans are:
Value Focus
Day2Day Focus
First Focus
First Focus for Nurses and Teachers
Future Focus
Future Focus for Nurses and Teachers
Family Focus (children aged between 5-17 are charged a discounted rate of €150 per child 1-3)
Hospital Focus
Value Focus (€525 per adult) and Day2Day Focus (€750 per adult) both cover 31 public hospitals. Cover for private hospitals and 29 public hospitals is not provided. €400 is provided towards maternity fees in a listed public hospital.
Value Focus has limited outpatient benefits with a €200 outpatient excess per year. Day2Day Focus provides outpatient benefits such as €30 x 4 visits to a GP, dentist or alternative practitioner with a €1 outpatient excess.
First Focus (€765 per adult), First Focus for Nurses and Teachers (€767 per adult), Future Focus (€880 per adult), Future Focus for Nurses and Teachers (€882 per adult) and Hospital Focus (€1170 per adult) provide cover for 33 public hospitals. 27 public hospitals are not covered. Each plan provides cover for private hospitals with a €150 excess per claim. 9 private hospitals and the Blackrock Clinic and the Mater Private are not covered. Certain listed orthopaedic procedures have a €2000 co-payment when carried out in a private hospital.
First Focus and First Focus for Nurses and Teachers provide €400 towards maternity accommodation costs in a listed public hospital.
Future Focus, Future Focus for Nurses and Teachers and Hospital Focus provide a €4,500 maternity accommodation grant in listed hospitals.
Each plan has an outpatient excess of €200 per year. Nurses and Teachers Plans have benefits towards voice coaching and orthotic insoles.
