Vhi Healthcare will add a benefit on One Plan Complete on 1 July 2013. A benefit of €20 per year will be added for non-emergency dental visits. An outpatient excess of €250 per year applies to this plan. This benefit will apply to all new and renewing customers from 1 July 2013
Aviva release 8 new plans in a bid to address the increasing strain on affordability. The plans could also be seen as an innovative move by Aviva Health to circumvent the government’s proposed plans to charge insurers and patients inflated rates in Public Hospitals.

The community rated system of health insurance will be destabilised if current trends in the age composition of enrolment are not reversed, according to a report by the economist, Colm McCarthy commissioned by Aviva Health Insurance Ireland Limited.
It now appears clear that the State is intent on increasing the cost charged to insurers for private patients in Public Hospitals under new legislation due to take effect from the 1st of July 2013.
Aviva will release Health Plan 09 (€2,413.30 per adult, €924.40 for child 1-3, €96 for child 4 and €904.40 for student 1-3 and €280 for student 4) on 22 April 2013.
