Two years after Vhi, Laya Healthcare introduce Orthopaedic shortfalls on their 2 newest plans.

Laya Healthcare having resisted introducing co-payments on Orthopaedic Procedures for 2 years finally follow suit with the relaese of 2 new plans that see Laya change their view on co-payments.
Laya Healthcare will release Essential Value (€775 per adult, €210 per student/child) on 1 September 2013. This plan provides cover for a semi-private room in selected public hospitals, a semi-private room in selected private hospitals and day case and semi-private room cover in the Beacon Hospital with a €175 excess per private hospital claim.
There is a €1,800 co-payment for specified knee, hip and shoulder replacement surgery in selected private hospitals. Full cover is provided for these procedures in the Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin.
There is a maternity accomodation grant of up to €400 provided in selected public and private hospitals. The plan has limited outpatient benefits with a €150 outpatient excess per year.
Laya Healthcare will release Essential Value 500 (€665 per adult, €220 per student/child) on 1 September 2013. This plan provides cover for a semi-private room in a public hospital, a semi-private room and day case cover in a private hospital with a €500 excess per private hospital claim.
There is a maternity accomodation grant of up to €400. The plan has limited outpatient benefits with a €150 outpatient excess per year.
These plans are available to all new and renewing customers from 1 September 2013
